  • Hate the new version of Duolingo

    By Grla_99
It’s impossible to keep track of where you are and whether o not you are meeting your goals. Cute graphics take up too much screen real estate and add nothing to understanding (how does a cartoon dolphin popping his head above water help to illustrate “He is returning to Spain”?)
  • Duolingo это супер!

Уже больше месяца изучаю английский через это прекрасное приложение! И можно сказать мой английский продвинулся довольно таки совсем не плохо!!!
  • Update horrible

    By Knjconrady
I loved Duolingo until the recent update. I hate how you can’t test out of what you know now. It wastes my time now. Also it used to show your fluency percent and I miss it.
  • Great tool

  • No audio for 9/10ths of the Vietnamese first lesson

    By ChefAbram
I downloaded this to learn Vietnamese to communicate with my coworkers that are Vietnamese, and on the first lesson all of the audio that’s supposed to help me understand pronunciation doesn’t play, even after tapping the megaphone icon. Only very few play the audio. How am I supposed to learn if I can’t even read in my head the words because I’m not being taught the pronunciation
  • New update frustration

    By Duolingo User 12345
New update is very frustrating, I preferred the prior version. I don’t like the whole health bar or amount it costs to refill it. Every time I play I am more concerned with not losing health than actually learning the language, which wasn’t the case before the update. I really enjoyed the app and have played it every day for almost 2 years but this new update is making me consider other language learning apps. It feels like the app designers are pressuring me to spend money rather than helping me learn a new language. With a health bar that takes 5 hours to refill 1 bar, a 350 cost to refill the health bar, and suggestions to buy gems from the game every time I use the app, I feel pressured to spend actual money in order to learn and use the app. Luckily I played every day and saved enough coins during my 2 years of playing that I can afford to spend some gems, I can’t get over the frustrating new update. Hopefully a new update comes out that lets the user make mistakes without worrying about health. Only then do I think the app can achieve what I believe is its goal, which is to help users learn a new language. If the health bar continues then it’s clear money is the motive as they say.

  • One thing that needs fixing is...

    By Dsnashsc!
One thing that needs fixing is the way life’s work. Waiting for 4 hrs to get any kind of life is way toooo long. I understand you can practice to get the bars, but we should be able to reach a bar every hour until it’s gets full too. Also, we should get credit for every phrase/word we get right to help with life’s.

I absolutely Love this app. It is fun, interactive, and very creative. Only one question… How on earth do you delete a course? I accidentally selected another course while scrolling through the options… And while it’s really no bother sitting there, I’d like to know how to get rid of it. That’s really all, maybe just make a more obvious delete course button at the very bottom. Thanks so much
  • Growing pains

    By Ooossojrjfj
I liked the app better before the update. Since this change to crowns thing, i have noticed a glitch where it will stay on the amount of lessons I need to complete instead of advancing being at lesson 4/10 three times isn’t very motivating. Additionally I don’t know how accurate the proficiency percent was but it made me feel like I was advancing more that just having 95 crowns (whatever that means).
