Helpful and fun A few weird sentences though, such as “yes, the tomato” but still great

It’s free and I have seen a lot of progress in myself. This is honestly nothing better than this app!
  • Good for basics, but at some point there’s nothing more you can do....

I started using this app more than a year ago to refresh my Spanish and Japanese. I’ve learned all of the lessons, did all of the chat bots in Spanish, and (as someone else mention in their review), there’s now nothing new for me to do or learn. There’s no new content, no new chat bots, no new lessons. The only thing I can do is maintain my golden tree & my streak, by repeating the same content I’ve already learned. I have thousands of gems / lingots but there’s nothing for me to buy anymore. It would be nice if the app could add some more content...
  • Amazing!

I am learning French fast and I love how it feels like a game. Great app
  • terrible, needs work.

(I’m “learning” french with this app) I really don’t like the memorize part with the fact that “skills decline over time”. NOT THAT QUICKLY THEY DON’T!! And the fact that I have to pay gems to learn how real french people would talk is stupid! (Note:FRENCH PEOPLE DO NOT TALK LIKE HOW YOU'RE SHOWING ME!! It’s called idioms!) I really would recommend not using Duolingo to anybody wanting to learn french. I learned much more and faster in the 6 months I DIDN’T use duolingo! Absolutely terrible app
  • Pay attention

Great program but I was getting frustrated because I was not understanding the objective of some questions. There are times they ask you to type what someone said, example “gracias, adios.” And I would think they wanted me to type “thanks, bye” BUT they actually wanted me to type out “gracias, adios” not translate it. Simple misunderstanding so other than that it’s perfect!
