  • Not great

    By CrazySadie
Having the magazines available is great, however, this app is very poor. I can’t seem to tell what my status is & what happens when restore purchases! I very rarely will use this app as it is not user friendly in anyway. Really needs A LOT of work!
  • New upgraded UI not great

    By Sharon M Fling
I agree with another review that said “great content but not great UI”. I wrote a similar review for Health mag as the interface is the same. I don’t mind the updated look of the magazine itself but the app interface is glitchy on my iPad, slow, and gets frozen quite a bit (could be that I have an old iPad). However I was hoping it would be better on my new iPhone 8. A suggestion would be to allow the reader view in the offline version. Then I could read it on my phone even if my iPad is too old to handle the updates! Love the magazine itself though.
  • Great content new app needs work

I don’t want the news clip feature I could go to website for that. My magazines are all out of order. I would like to quickly go back to an issue.
  • Great content. UI is terrible.

    By mrparet90
The content of the magazine is great, but the user interface of the app is terrible. The interface and, more importantly, the content isn’t optimized for all devices, including the 10.5” iPad Pro. This makes the photography blurry. Additionally, the app tends to forget the page on which I left, so when I open the app after a while, I’m taken back to the cover of the magazine and I have to find the recipe I’m making again. This was never an issue with previous versions of the app. Finally, the constant reminder of “Swipe up for reader view” is obnoxious since it’s an overlay on top of the magazine content, and it appears all the time. I understand that this app update was supposed to make the reading experience better, but it feels like an absolute regression in usability.
  • Latest update erased all previous mags

    By DenverDean
Latest update erased all previous magazines. Was able to get everything from the previous year, but anything older... gone. Frustrating, and seriously, losing customer information? Done & done. Never coming back CL. Your digital app has sucked for years, but this is the last straw. GOODBYE!
  • Horrible update!

All old issues are out of order.
  • Where are my issues???

    By Durbin23
The new look is ok, but my library is now missing every February, May and June issues. I’m a long time subscriber, and I reference my archives all the time. Fix this problem!!
  • No more bookmarks!

I just did the update to the new app, and I'm so disappointed because I can longer bookmark recipes. I used that feature all the time.

  • Do not buy a subscription

    By Tiffany1043
About 2 months ago I tried to buy a subscription from within the app on my iPad. One month went by and I still could not access digital subscriptions. I was bounced back and forth between Apple customer support and Cooking Light customer service trying to just set up a digital account for the subscription I had PAID for. I had even been told at one point on the phone to "google it" to figure it out?! We are on month 2, and Cooking Light is not responding to my emails to help me figure this out. No hard copies in the mail, no account number provided to me to create a digital account....nothing. Fortunately Apple is willing to cancel my subscription for me. It's too bad because I have always liked the recipes I have seen in this magazine.
