  • Recent update terrible

Removed recently recorded section. Now it’s grouped by shows? This is terrible. Please revert back to showing us episodes recorded from most recent to least recent. Also now they are forcing shows with ads. Before you could access your DVR version that would let you fast forward. Now it’s pushing the ad version instead. Hard to find the live version. Please fix.
  • Strange setup for recordings

I like the service best compared to any other streaming tv option. The app however makes it difficult to find your recordings, which got even worse with the recent updates. Why can’t we see all recordings in the order they were recorded? And why can’t we see a full list? The navigation makes no sense! It’s frustrating enough to make me consider canceling. I would love to see program listings too. Not just what is currently on, and not go through each channel separately to see what’s coming up, but a full guide with all channels, with the ability to scroll to any time of day.

My family and I love it! I catch myself all the time telling people about YouTube tv! Neighbors just got it and the person selling me tv/Internet was sold herself in buying YouTube tv versus the product she was selling!
  • Commercials!!!!

I love the channel selection. Would love to see HGTV added to the lineup. The DVR is nice too. What I do not like is when I record a show and the next day it is already available On Demand so I am stuck watching commercials, which is the whole point of a DVR. There must be a way to allow us to watch the latest episode without suffering through commercials. Having to deal with commercials would be enough to go back to using cable TV.
  • Love it with a couple issues..

In our second week with YouTube TV. Was initially confused by the separate app but that’s not a big deal. Pros: Great selection. Okay customer service. Great search (obviously). Clear picture. Ok layout and descriptions. Free 30 day trial. Live TV with a DVR type feature. Latest episodes. Cons: The commercials. I dislike cable because of commercials and would rather not have them in a paid app. Netflix doesn’t have commercials. Multiple other tv/movie apps are commercial free. The reason we’re considering keeping this app is because I dislike cable and my boyfriend wants sports. Odd set up. Weird with vpn (not supported). Poor roku integration. A few weird UX issues. The home page is like Netflix but inconsistent. A pain to find search. Weird that different pages are inconsistently laid out. Wish family favorites had profiles with a shared profile option. Would like to setup live alerts. No older episodes. But Netflix and amazon solve that.

  • Like the option but playback super unstable

We got YouTubeTV about a month ago (to watch SoundersFC) and I just updated thinking that would solve the crashing, occasional but dramatic mis-matching of video with sound (whole different scenes), and the continual bumping back to start a show at the beginning - including the numerous and teeth-clenchingly repetitive ads all over again! Seems like within this first month, most of the networks no longer allow the DVR playback option and whatever player(s) are used for VOD playback are unstable (CBS in particular). (Also maybe add beinSports and beinSportsñ in the mix.) But if stability doesn’t improve we may jump to another service and just go watch Sounders away matches in a pub.
  • Great price but...

Great price, but always a issue of my Phone or tablet connecting to chrome case or 15 minutes or more into a show to immediately need to pause and chromecast connection dropped. Don’t have as much connectivity issues with android tablet as I do on IOS platform. But that’s not to say it doesn’t have its occasional disconnects. This occurs on multiple chromcast adapters with multiple APs thoughout the house. This is why I’m giving 3 stars.

Could have been great if the app were allowed to play in the background. I would pay $50 a month if background playback was possible. Heck, I would cancel my Directv account if I could have background playback on iPhone.
